Beneath the surface

This project is inspired by American Psycho and its main character, Patrick Bateman, a 90s yuppie with a psychopathic double life. While he appears as an elite New York financier, his inner world is filled with cruelty, inferiority, and uncontrollable violence. The collection reinterprets his iconic raincoat and the classic 90s yuppie wardrobe, incorporating hidden details to represent his complex duality.

This collection draws a personal connection to Bateman’s hidden vulnerability and loneliness, revealing suppressed emotions beneath the surface. It imagines the character’s wardrobe as if he were a woman, blending his fierce exterior with an underlying emotional depth.
